Yes. The RS485 bus allows you to connect up to 32 standard Modbus devices in series. Each sensor gets a unique slave ID, and the DTU polls them sequentially. The polling interval is adjustable from one second upwards, so you can balance between responsiveness and data plan usage.

Which cellular carriers does it support, and what happens when the signal is weak?

The internal module works with LTE Cat‑1, WCDMA, and GSM networks. It comes with a standard SIM slot that accepts most global carrier cards. When signal strength drops below a user‑defined threshold, the DTU logs data locally and retries transmission once the signal recovers. You can also attach an external high‑gain antenna through the SMA connector if the installation is inside a metal cabinet.
